Dear Parents and Staff,
On February 27th, the PTA Board and class reps held a PTA meeting. The school management was represented by Mr Olsson.
Below are just a few topics from the meeting. Please see the minutes on schoolsoft for more information.
There is a negative trend of student’s attitude lately. Some work needs to be done.
Mr Crate will most probably reduce work hours to 50%. This results in changes in management team, which might lead to two assistant principals. Being 700 students has lead to “growing pain” and therefore organisational changes is ahead to allow an improved supervision.
A change will also be made in the structure of the admission of the 4th graders.
9’graders will be offered Yoga before the National tests.
Hemsö wants to build a PE hall earlier than expected.
The breaks between classes will be longer next year.
Schoolyard equipment is ordered. Climbing and Basket.
Spring Festival June 4th. Each class to arrange for a basket. Lottery tickets SEK 10. 8’graders could sell goodies to collect money for their school trip in 9th grade. The sales should not compete with PTA activities, only “things” that can be taken home.

Mr Billing and school management are in discussion with the ventilation contractor and actions will be taken.
PTA Scholarship can be grated to several classes / students. PTA Award is only granted to one person.
Disciplin still an issue at different locations and is dealt with continuously.
Lack of deputy teachers, now also looking at newly retired who might be willing to jump in.
Morning and afternoon snacks can be eaten in lunch canteen, but not during lunch hours (11-13).
All views regarding teaching and lessons should be taken directly with the school, either the teacher, head of department, head of year or principal. This is not a topic for PTA. Discipline issues should be directed to head of year. Whenever there is a school issue, start with the teacher involved, then head of department and last the management. A process for “steps of communication” should be created and placed on PTA website.
Next meeting is planned to April 2nd. Please send topics that you want to bring to the table to PTA Board in advance.
