The PTA fundraiser Spring Festival can definitely be called a success! At 17.30 the school yard started to fill up with students, parents, grandparents and school staff. The choir, led by the fantastic Ms Larsvall, set the tone by sharing beautiful and thoughtful songs from the top of the stairs.
This year, we expanded the food court and offered not only hot dogs, but also tasty noodles in a glass. It was really appreciated! The teachers and school staff were challenged to a tug of war by the students, and the students were so strong the rope broke! But the most popular event was Sponging the principal. Since Mr Olsson was ill, Mr Crate put on a brave face underneath the shower cap and let almost 100 students throw wet sponges at him! It is an understatement to say that the students enjoyed it…
The lottery – wow! The baskets, provided by the class representatives with big help from many parents, were spectacular and some looked very tasty. This sight led to a huge sale of lottery tickets, adding to the pre-sold ones. The lottery event itself, took place on the front stairs in front of an anticipative audience. Many happy winners were carrying home plenty of chocolate and candy, but also other goodies and really nice things.
The PTA board wants to give the largest THANK YOU to all who made this possible – the staff at IES Lund, the PTA class representatives, the students, and of course all of you who bought tickets at home or came to the Festival.
We look forward to seeing again next year!
The PTA Scholarship 2018
Thanks to the funds raised at the Spring Festival we are able to support a class or a group of students when arranging extracurricular activities. During the last couple of weeks, we have received several applications for the scholarship. More information on these will be published on this site.
