What do you like most about your country?
That it is so diverse. Each province is like its own mini-country.

If you would recommend one place for a tourist to visit in your country, where would that be?
Lake Louise in Alberta. It’s part of our National Park, Banff, and is situated in the mountains. It is stunning.

Where you an A student?
ABBAsolutely! 🙂

What was your dream job when you were a youngster?

When you have one day off at home, how would you spend it?
Touring/travelling around the area with friends.

How would you network and meet new friends in a new country?
I have met friends with the teachers at school and made other friends through them.

How would you describe Lund in three words?
Medieval, cosy and charming.

How would you describe Sweden in one word?

What is your role at the IESL?
I teach Year 7 Science and English.

What made you decide to join IESL?
It had been a dream of mine to move to Sweden for many years and I really liked and believe in the IES ethos. IES came to my university recruiting new teachers. My cousin had studied in Lund and I visited Sweden last summer and loved it so much that I decided to come back!

What did you do before you started at IESL?
I was in studying in school, I just graduated a few months before moving here. I have a degree in Geography and History, in addition to my teaching degree.

What are your challenges at IESL?
Perhaps just getting adjusted to the grading system here, as it is very different than home.

Where are you in three years time?
Hopefully still in Sweden at IESL!

Name one unexpected similarity you have with one of your colleagues.
Ms. Ruchti and I are both big fans of ABBA!

Give three good advices to your students
1. Ask questions!
2. When reading, have a dictionary beside you. That way you can look up unfamiliar words!
3. Ask for help when you need it!

Name 3 things you find best about Sweden.
The people, the efficiency and ABBA!

What do you prefer to eat?
Swedish meatballs and lingonberry jam!

You will be staying one month on a deserted island. You may bring one person and two items. Who and what would that be?
My best friend, matches and bottled water.

What is the most peculiar thing you have done?
I worked in a restaurant, which is quite funny because I am a terrible cook!

Who is the most famous person you have met?
I didn’t necessarily meet her, but I have come within a few feet of country singer Carrie Underwood.

What sport would you never practice?
Never say never.

What TV show(s) are you a bit embarrassed to tell that you are watching?
There isn’t a show in particular, but I really love reality television!
