I was born and raised in Lund.

What do you like most about your country?
I do appreciate Sweden being a peaceful country. The fresh air and the closeness to pure nature is also something that I appreciate and have the opportunity to take for granted!

If you would recommend one place for a tourist to visit in your country, where would that be?
Im not sure its a good idea to recommend something that I don’t want to become a crowded place.. But its a beach at Österlen.. ; )

Where you an A student?
What on earth is that!?

What was your dream job when you were a youngster?
Working as an aid-worker, saving the world from bad guys, or perhaps a writer.. At some point I really wanted to be a performer in music as well..

When you have one day off at home, how would you spend it?
During the days off at the weekend I would spend time with my family. A day off any other day and with nobody at home I would probably tidy up, do the laundry, visit my parents, hang with friends for lunch, shopping, doing pilates, listening to music or P1 radio, reading, lay in my hammock in my garden just being busy doing nothing at all!

How would you network and meet new friends in a new country?
Force myself upon any native person that I might, most definitely bumps into and ask for their pure love and understanding for my great interest in them and their country. Just hoping not to seem to neurotic and eager!!

How would you describe Lund in three words?
Cozy – Clean – Claustrophobic

How would you describe Sweden in one word?
Ikea

What is your role at the IESL?
Career Counsellor

What made you decide to join IESL?
I had been working with Principal Mr.Olsson at a previous school and was introduced to IESL through him really.

What did you do before you started at IESL?
I worked at “Gymnasieskolan Spyken” in Lund.

What are your challenges at IESL?
As a Career Counsellor you don’t have any scheduled time with the students so at times it is hard to manage to get that space for guidance.

Do you have any clear visions you would like to achieve?
I would like to be able to help the students to find the right path to walk on. It is a djungle out there so to give each individual a sense of self-awareness is a good way to start.

Where are you in three years time?
I have been around quite a bit so I think I might still have one foot at the IESL. But then again, I like change..

Name one unexpected similarity you have with one of your colleagues
Cant think of one.. I’m unique! ; )

Give three good advices to your students Get to know yourself an listen to you heart, it will take you far. Treat others the way you want to be treated. As Nelson Mandela said – A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.

Name 3 things you find best about Sweden
Yoel, Elias and Noah – my sons.

What do you prefer to eat? I love crispy stuff! Crispy aromatic duck, crispy noodles, crisps! Italian food eaten preferably in Italy is great to. I’m only picky when it comes to poor food-quality or unimaginative food-creations!

You will be staying one month on a deserted island. You may bring one person and two items. Who and what would that be?
I’ve had a “crush” on Will Smith for some time now.. he would be my man on the island!  ; ) I would bring water for a month and a good carving-knife or matches..

What is the most peculiar thing you have done?
There is a few.. One would be, travelling with a famous, brilliant bass-player on tour in the 80´s through Europe and in this particular case, East-Germany, having one man, musician from an African country without a passport in the back of the van hidden among luggage an music-equipment.. We were around 8-9 people, all with their own odd look, which didn´t help us out on our route through East-Germany at that time!

Who is the most famous person you have met?
It depends on the readers perception on what famous is I suppose. I did work with a Catalan journalist while living in London and he is today a famous person in Spain. Peter Gabriel, Sinead O`connor, Toto..are perhaps known to some, older people! ; )

What sport would you never practice?
Horseriding I think. Lovely creatures to watch from a distant..

What TV show(s) are you a bit embarrassed to tell that you are watching?
I dont watch all that much TV really. During weekends and holidays I do love to watch movies though.

Where do you go for your dream holiday?
This summer, we are driving to Paris to meet up with my cousin and also to hang with a friend and her kids. We will also spend time in the south of France in a house at Bagnols en Foret. Dreamholiday.. Roadtrip in the name of soul & jazzmusic, in the US would be a great thing to do at some point, ideally with my father and oldest son..
